After I rediscovered this album last year, I fell in love with it. the atmosphere and songwriting match with a wound that I carry. It's a solid album with nearly no weak spots. Just a banger! Man, I catch myself again and again singing Lamb of god

Possibly his best album (The most consistent) All of his albums are good imo tho.

this album should have sounded angrier and heavier but I like that John 5 made songs that were better than Mechanical Animals soundvibe, more similar to Antichrist Svperstar album (even if I prefer Zim Zum as live guitarist)

I love this album, I prefer other Marilyn Manson albums but this one is still a masterpiece

I would probably suggest you Antichrist Superstar if you liked the more heavier side of it or Mechanical Animals for the softer one!

simply his best album by far. a masterpiece and milestone of the genre. an industrial rock album has never been more relevant for the time in which it was recorded and released.

It kind of strange that he made this one after "Mechanical Animals", because that one sounded so sterile.

That was the point though. It was a satire on Manson becoming famous, it probably has some of the darkest lyrics.

Was it? I heard he wasn't happy with the production. However, "Holy Wood" ended up being the best of both worlds — "Antichrist Superstar" and this one.

he wasn't happy with the reception the album got, he never released a better album than 'Mechanical Animals'.

I assumed Holy Wood came first before I actually got into his music, but with the intention behind it, that makes sense. I also think that whether he wants to admit or not, Manson wanted to make a glam rock record. And then he did. And then we were back to our regularly scheduled programming.

I listened to this non-stop when it came out. Good record. A lot of the themes are still relevant today.
