Play-Actor
'Streams Inwards' can't seem to equal the achievement that 'Draining the Waterheart' was. Nor does it miss the mark. It absolutely doesn't. The songs have become shorter, song structure simpler, sound texture less tense and multi-layered, the ambiance slightly diluted, in a nutshell, all necessary ingredients to concoct a flawless, formulaic, overwhelmingly beautiful, melodic doom / death metal fall perfectly into place on this record. It might well be a step back for the band that, very likely, predestined all expectations to be deceived in advance by raising the bar so impossibly high, but the effort is well worth being put on any serious end of the year list.
