I love this album more than words can describe. Still cherish my memories of seeing it during the 20th anniversary tour!

As much as I like this album... I can't understand a single word coming out of James' mouth unless I look at the lyrics. Am I the only one? 🤔

The Neo-Post-Punk album no one needed but now we can't live without. They wear their influences on their sleeves, on thus one. You hear them all: New Order, Bauhaus, The Cure, Siouxsie, The Fall, e.t.c. One of the greatest albums ever, one of my all-time favorites, all killer and not an iota of filler. This is without a doubt the best Manics album in an already impressive discography.

it's easy to slip into hyperbole on this site... but in all honesty, i don't think a single piece of art has left me so consistently awestruck as this album. years and years of listening to this thing and it kicks me in the stomach just as hard as the first time round.

James Dean Bradfield is really underrated in the music world. How did he even come up with music to lyrics so jagged and awkward!? and not only that, capture their mood perfectly with the music. He's the 2nd genius behind this album but he gets zero recognition because everyone always makes it about Richey.

Twenty years today. It's kind of crazy when you think about what kind of impact it has had on so many people.

It is so fucking bleak that it borderlines on overwhelming; the mark of a true piece of art.

THB always makes you wonder how much greater a force MSP could have been had Richey "remained".

When I worked at HMV full-time, this album was my journey to work for the whole of Oct-Dec'07. Always put me in the right mood. Perfect for ice cold winter mornings.

Nothing else in the Manics canon can hold a candle to this dark masterpiece. Truthful, brutal and depressing, a document that hits Western culture right between the eyes.

best album ever. nothing else is even close to this good. it is literally gospel, listen to it as often as I can because it is holy.

just got into THB recently...I can't believe what I have been missing alle these years. It's a damn masterpiece! Richey's lyrics are indeed brilliant...he's a real icon and one of the most fascinating persons I came across.

Being a yank, MSP is not something that was readily available during the peak years. Finding this album almost a decade after it's release, it is in my blood like an album I've been spinning since i was 10. At first I liked it but figured it was a passing curiosity. By the 2nd listen, all these small moments come into view and by the 3rd or 4th listen, you know you are listening to a album that will be in your heart forever. Thanks Manics!
