epitaph reminded me of Neverbloom, in a very good way - it feels like the heaviest MTS song since that first album

Can someone confirm that with ERRA they're only playing 7 songs.. that's crazy for before the headliner.

nice hybrid of metalcore and deathcore. they can definitely nail those soaring melodic hooks, but the heavier riffs absolutely slap as well

I think it’s a Spotify recommended song quirk. It has a habit of putting short songs in the queue for some reason

i think having male and female harsh vocalists in the same band is one of the coolest things i didn't know i needed until now

Did Spotify REALLY have to add the remastered version of Neverbloom and get rid of the original one entirely?

lots of times it's the artist/label who do this bullshit. I am glad I still have most of my CD's from the 2000's because they keep passively 'remastering' albums and swapping the mixes for streaming. From First To Last's first album sounds phucking awful on streaming now compared to the original CD release - but when I looked it up, it was the band who pushed to have this new mix uploaded.

like it or hate it, that's what kind of elevates them beyond typical deathcore. without the dual vocals and melodic hooks, it would be pretty generic stuff

I think just about everything before the Ghost Of Me EP is pretty slapdash and mediocre. These last 2 tracks with Alex on clean vocals way more cohesive. I guess I just hope they continue in this direction, because I agree that a lot of the more melodic hooks/riffs are weak from their earlier catalog.

Unfortunately bands like that can't bring anything but breakdowns and the same melodic chorus, and this is why this scene is so oversaturated nowadays. This album have a good quality in the production but it's not like we haven't seen anything like this in years, there's literally nothing new or original. There some good moments but overall this is a pretty mediocre release.

I agree with you on some points of yours, but in 2020 deathcore/metalcore is so popular and, just like you said, oversaturated, it's not only hard for the bands to be progressive, experimental or to try to create something new out of already fully exhaused from ideas genre. I think many bands, including Make Them Suffer of course, never really tried to even pretend to be technical and progressive in any way. They may have brought something unique to the scene back in the days with their "symphonic" style, but that "fresh breeze" has already expired. And also the roaster changes back in 2017 has pushed the band to the more generic section, but it's nice to see that they're doing fine and still can create at least decent music whether it's something they or someone else has already done before or not.

Yep. As much this scene is so popular now, for me this scene is just dying, is really hard to find a solid release nowadays, I just enjoyed one, maybe two new albums this year on this genre. This new MTS album is ok for me, it's a 6/10 at your best, most of the songs are pretty disposable.

I love how the listener's emotions change with each song. And this closing after moments of melancholy. Great freaking album.

New album is an interesting mix between Old souls and Worlds Apart, maybe even as good as Old Souls. Good job MTS.

Ok, the new singles, even if it's not on Neverbloom style, are great. Maybe this new album is gonna be good.
