Just kinda a weird ass album and the same can be said of the subsequent album & Catharsis. Flynn & Nu-Metal just don't mesh all that well.

Come back just to say how much I love this one. I always wished whenever I saw them that they would do Desire to Fire. idk why people were ever so uppity about Robb rapping, every MH fan knows or should that he's hugely into Biohazard and NYHC & as for the whole "Nu-Metal imagery" lmfao he had corn rows in the Davidian video. & Max Cavalera went Nu-Metal big time in the early days but didn't ever recieve half the flak Robb gets for it even today. Metal heads are so bloody weird lol

I don't like this album very much. I'm just not a big fan of the nu metal sound, and if I must listen to it I'd rather listen to Korn or someone who does it a lot better. It's just something cringe-worthy about Robb rapping, it doesn't feel genuine. I won't deny that its got some moments though. I really like the title-track, and The Police cover and album intro are pretty sweet too. Great 90's sound on those pieces, but the nu metal stuff... I'll pass on that.

This album came out when I was in High School. I can't stand Nu Metal, and liked real metal before Korn and all that crap blew up. So needless to say, the Nu Metal influences in the album completely turned me off of Machine Head for waaaaayy too long, missing out when they got good again.

I don't understand hate toward this album... it's change in their style, but still it's good record... Alcoholocaust and New Resistance should be on this album... those songs would make it better for sure ;)

"Blah blah blah. I'm going to shit on "nu-metal" so I sound brilliant and act like my ignorant opinion is the end all be all to what's metal"

I will always have a soft spot for this album... i remember listening it to this and wishing they still played with the same heavyness of the first 2 albums.. but it's a fucking sick album and still i remember most of the words too. still less boring than through the ashes in my opinion

Their worst... everything except this is good, even Supercharger. [2] I wouldn't say it's shit but definitely far behind any other of MH albums.

"why do they put album version after each song, quite annoying, oh well my favorite song here is Silver by far " Something to do with either Nokia music store files I think.

Lots of ppl are moaning about The Burning Red. The nu-metal is style here is little annyoing, indeed, but this album has some specific climate that makes me willing to listen it.

this album is so different from any other MH album but kicks so much ass in a nu metal but yet hardcore sorta way, kinda reminds me of mudvayne
