Maan is a Dutch singer and actress. In 2016, she rose to national fame after winning the sixth season of the Voice of Holland. She then released her first single “Perfect World”, produced by Hardwell, which became a minor hit in the official Dutch Top 40. The follow-up “Ride It”, produced by Jack $hirak, performed similarly. The subsequent singles failed to make an impact on the charts. Maan, however, continued to remain a prominent figure on Dutch television, appearing on the popular tv-shows Beste Zangers and Dance Dance Dance. On the former tv-show, she covered “Jij Bent de Liefde” by rapper Kenny B, which reached Number 1 on the Dutch iTunes Top 100.

In October 2017, Maan was featured on “In Amsterdam” by rapper Sevn Alias, marking Maan her first ever Dutch single. It became a streaming hit, having received over 45 million streams on Spotify. She then collaborated with rapper Ronnie Flex on “Blijf Bij Mij”, which became a massive hit. It peaked at #2 on the official Dutch Top 40 and went double-platinum. Maan then continued to release Dutch singles, which all performed much better on the charts than her previous English releases. In 2018, she scored a Top 20-hit with “Lief Zoals Je Bent” and released her first Dutch EP under Top Notch.

In 2019, Maan scored her first official Number 1-hit with “Hij Is Van Mij” alongside Kris Kross Amsterdam, Tabitha and Bizzey. The song is a Dutch reworking of Brandy and Monica’s classic “The Boy Is Mine”. It has received over 100 million streams and ranks as one of the highest-selling Dutch songs of all time. It also made Maan the first The Voice of Holland-winner to score a Number 1-hit.

In 2020, Maan released her debut album Onverstaanbaar which debuted at Number 1 and was certified platinum. Her “Ze Huilt Maar Ze Lacht” became a Top 3-hit and her most acclaimed song to date. In 2021, Maan worked together with Acda en de Munnik & Typhoon on “Als Ik Je Weer Zie” and “Blijven Slapen” with Snelle. The latter of the two became a multi-platinum hit and Maan her second official Number 1-hit. Near the end of the year, she released “Leven”, the lead single of her second studio album of the same name.

In 2022, Maan announced she was dating Goldband member Karel Gerlach at Lowlands Festival. Maan and Goldband then worked together on the synth-pop duet “Stiekem”. It became the biggest hit of Maan her career so far, topping the Dutch Spotify charts and becoming the best-scoring Dutch song of all time.

In 2024, Maan made a comeback with her single "Paranoia" after months of press speculation about Maan her mental health and long absence from the music industry. The song directly adresses the press and their rumours. The song was produced by her boyfriend and Goldband member Karel Gerlach. It underperformed on the national charts, failing to impact the Dutch Singles Top 100.
