This is perhaps my favourite by them, after all. The next two were injected with too much bluesy hard rock influence a la Aerosmith. Not that MC were alien to this to begin with, and definitely not a bad thing on its own, but it got too much for my taste, especially on 'Dr. Feelgood'. Not something I wanna hear from Crüe. What I wanna hear is a healthy dose of metal crunch in guitar riffs - this is what 'Theatre Of Pain' exactly delivers, while keeping things catchy and sleazy the way this kind of glam metal is intended to be.

Possibly the weakest of their 80s catalogue, but still a totally decent and fun album! :)

Kind of underrated but also uneven at times. A few songs are kind of mediocre but then there are songs like "Louder Than Hell", "Tonight (We Need A Lover)" and "Fight For Your Rights", which are as good as the Crüe gets imo. I wish the production was more like the one on SATD, though.

Really good songs, AWESOME songs... but totally fucked up production! I hate how "Theatre Of Pain" sounds and can't mind if it was their target quality.

Not a big fan of this, sounds tired and stale compared to Shout and Too Fast. City Boy Blues, Home Sweet Home and Use It Or Lose it are good though.
