I never really pay attention to the lyrics when I listen to shoegaze so imagine my surprise when I figured out what this song was about

They opened Lalapalooza 2 in Pittsburgh with this back in '92. It sounded so good that loud on a bright sunny day. I'd love to go back in time and see that show again. :D

@inphanta So what? I didn't know shit about "shoegaze" until RB2 came along and I heard this track. After I heard this, I was awe-struck and now pretty much over 60% of my music collection consists of shoegaze artists. Doesn't matter if it's "hip" or whatever. Shoegaze was never that mainstream to begin with and still isn't, even with the recent "Nu-Gaze" revival. It doesn't matter if MORE people heard it, it matters that MORE people (like me) hear it and actually ENJOY it.

Haha, I went beserk when I saw this track on rockband... I couldn't help but sing it horribly for sake of funnies.

Well, technically, Rock Band is MTV Games. That's the publisher, anyway -- EA just handles distribution. [/giant nerd]

Kudos to Activision for bringing this forgotten classic to the fore again! Bittersweet ethereal indie-pop.

@inphanta: True, but it's because of Rock Band that I now listen to Lush and have three of their albums (Gala, Spooky and Split).
