Freakish coincidence: I watched The Intouchables for the first time yesterday and loved the music in it, now knowing whose it was. Lo and behold, this song got played today as I listened to Akira Kosemura's artist radio.

so beautiful yet so 'simple' - this is why Einaudi is a genius. It's not about a virtuouso, showy performance like so much classical piano music - and that's why the classical snobs dismiss him, yet we love him :) And he does play *beautifully* - so much emotion invested in his pieces.

i find this song so sad in the sense that the mournful tone of the composition totally contradicts the optimism of the title and the idea that flight and freedom from worry is possible. of course, when i say "sad" i mean it in the best possible sense; it's so relatable. weirdly brings to my mind floyd's "i've got a stong urge to fly, but i got nowhere to fly to"
