“Benz Truck (гелик)” is the lead single from Lil Peep’s debut album, Come Over When You’re Sober, Pt. 1.
Гелик – Ga-lek (Ga as in “gang,” lek as in “lick”) comes from the German word “Geländewagen,” which translates to G Wagon. A “G-Wagon” is a common nickname for the Mercedes Benz G-Class SUV—a.k.a. a “Benz Truck.”
Produced by Rob Cavallo and long-time friend Smokeasac, the instrumental mixes a dark and catchy slow-paced melody, with an authentic bass guitar replacing the usual 808s.
The slow melody gives more space for Peep to bring the candid and borderline braggadocious lyrics allegorized into an expensive video clip, filmed by $us Boy during Peep’s first and only European tour.
