Rebirth is the seventh studio album by American rapper Lil Wayne, it was released February 2, 2010 by Young Money, Cash Money & Universal Motown. Marking a departure in style for Wayne, it is a rap metal and rock record with occasional hip-hop influence. The album's production was primarily handled by Cool & Dre, DJ Infamous, DJ Nasty & LVM, Kevin Rudolf, and J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League.
The album debuted at number two on the US Billboard 200, selling 176,000 copies in its first week. The album became Wayne's seventh top-ten album in the United States and produced four singles, with the lead "Prom Queen" peaking at #15 on the Billboard Hot 100 and "Drop the World" being certified 4x Platinum in the US.
Though it faced a generally negative reception from fans and music critics at the time for its unconventional combination of rock and hip-hop, Rebirth went on to become one of the turning points for the new era of rap rock in the early 2010s, helping the genre achieve mainstream popularity in the subsequent years.
