she once said in an interview that she recorded Siberia, Everybody Breaks A Glass & Day One with a band called Holy Fuck in one sitting. So I guess that's why those songs have a rough sound to it, which can be easily confused with bad mixing/mastering or something, i have no idea. I needed to get used to the sound, but I really like it now (except for Day One, which is too exhausting for me to listen to).

To everyone crying about the production: IT'S SUPPOSED TO SOUND THAT WAY YOU PRETENTIOUS MUSICALLY CLOSED-MINDED PRICKS. There are more genres than squeaky clean pitched up radio pop.

actually love the production on this thing. It almost has spacey proggy feel to it at times.

The Listening was pretty decent but lacking in character, this is a much stronger album in pretty much every department. Really enjoyed it and like the new direction.

I feel as if The Listening was old Lights and 'Siberia' is definitely new Lights. Both are so separate for me that I almost feel that they are by 2 different artists called Lights haha. I love both albums equally :) Strangely for many of you, my fave track appears to be Everybody Breaks a Glass. The 'slower' songs are all a big step up from Pretend (Y)

I still can't say it's better than The Listening, but it's really growing on me! Even the strange experimental track "Day One" is working for me now.

definitely better then the listening, but it does make me appreciate that album for what it was. this on the other hand feels like a nice progression; something that has come along with her growing as an artist

I think I prefer Siberia actually. I can do without songs like Flux and Flow and Fourth Dimension, but I adoreee And Counting... and Heavy Rope. The rest are great too, but these are my two favorite and least favorite. x)

Really enjoying this album :) I loved the Listening, but I definitely feel like this album has... I dunno, more... musicality? Musically, it just feels like there's more going on here than in the songs from The Listening. Lyrically, it feels much more poetic, and mature than her first album. As far as the whole dubstep infusion, I find it actually sounds quite nice, regardless of the fact that dubstep is all the rage right now and seems to be popping up everywhere. Is it the most original concept? No. But does it work for this album? Yes it does :) Considering how every other component of the album is as good as it is, I think it's fair to let the dubstep thing slide.
