Bron-Y-Aur Stomp is a folk rock country song written by Jimmy Page, Robert Plant and John Paul Jones. It’s the 4th track on side two of Led Zeppelin III, which was released October 5, 1970.
Bron-yr-Aur (pronounced Bron-rar) is a cottage in Gwynedd, Wales where Robert Plant and Jimmy Page wrote much of Led Zeppelin III in 1970 after the Spring 1970 North American Tour. The cottage had no electricity or running water, and the scenery provided inspiration.
Bron-Y-Aur Stomp was originally recorded as Jennings Farm Blues at the end of 1969. It was reworked as an acoustic number and featured Bonham playing castanets and spoons. The lyrics are about walking in the woods with Plant’s blue-eyed Merle dog named Strider.
