Biography

Lauren Bennet (born June 23, 1989) is an English singer, dancer and model from Meopham, Kent, England.

In 2007, Bennet became a member of Robin Antin's girl group named the Paradiso Girls. Their debut single, Patron Tequila, featuring Lil Jon and Eve, was released on May 12, 2009 to moderate success peaking at number three on the Hot Dance Club Play chart and number eighty two on the Canadian Hot 100. Shortly after, the group released their second single, Who's My Bitch, which was a commercial flop. Following the lack of success of the track, the group was put on an indefinite hiatus in 2010.

Bennet went on to pursue a solo career featuring on LMFAO's 2010 single Party Rock Anthem, along with GoonRock. The song was an international success reaching the top spot of the charts in many countries including the United States where it sold over five million digital copies. Following this success, Bennett released her debut single, I Wish I Wish, in 2011. Bennett was also featured on Cee Lo Green's 2010 album, The Lady Killer, on the song Love Gun.

On February, 5, 2012, a new girl group including Bennett named G.R.L. made their debut during GoDaddy's annual Super Bowl commercial. Although the group's line-up wasn't official until November 2012 when singer Emmalyn Estrada was announced to have had replaced Natalie Mejia. Aside from Bennett and Estrada, the group also included Simone Battle, Natasha Slayton and Paula van Oppen. The group's debut single, Vacation, was released on June 16, 2013 as part of the soundtrack to the movie The Smurfs 2. In 2014, the group released two songs, Show Me What You Got and Ugly Heart, to promote their debut self-titled extended play.

On September 5, 2014, Battle was found dead in her West Hollywood home. Following an autopsy, her death was ruled a suicide. Consequently, G.R.L. released the song Lighthouse on Jauary 15, 2015 as a tribute to her, continuing as a quartet. The group ultimately disbanded on June 2, 2015, nearly nine months after Batle's death.

In April of 2016, Bennett collaborated with Greek DJ Nick Martin on the track Reality. A month later on May 8, Bennett released a solo single entitled Hurricane. G.R.L. would reform later in the year as a trio with Bennett, Slayton and a new member named Jazzy Mejia. The group would release two singles titled Kiss Myself and Are We Good in the months following the reformation.
