"Ride" is an anthem for those who are searching for stability and purpose in their lives. The singer evokes images of a life of wandering, without a clear destination, and of having to take risks in order to make it. The chorus speaks to the singer's loneliness and her internal struggle, as she has a war in her mind between doing what is easy and doing what is right. Ultimately, she has to "just ride" and trust that things will turn out – even if she doesn't know the outcome. The overall theme of the song paints a vivid picture of the ups and downs of life, and conveys a message of resilience and hope: no matter how hard life can be, we have the power to keep going.
It is the opening track of Lana Del Rey's third EP, Paradise.
