This glam rock-inspired song is about loving one another in these troubled times. Love is what we need right now to move forward and build a future.
Mothers are generally stereotyped as willing to do anything for their child, no matter what. This leads to idioms such as “Mama Bear” for someone who will fight “tooth and claw” for their child.
Additionally, Lady Gaga’s fans call her Mother Monster (and she in return calls them “Little Monsters”). Many of her inspirational songs serve as anthems for her fans, and she in turn cares for her fans in a maternal way, telling Barbara Walters in 2010:
"I aspire to try to be a teacher to my young fans who feel just like I felt when I was younger. I just felt like a freak. I guess what I’m trying to say is I’m trying to liberate them, I want to free them of their fears and make them feel that they can make their own space in the world".
