"Americano" is a song about love and revolution. It tells the story of a girl who falls in love with a man in the East LA Barrio and speaks to the idea of a revolution of love. The song reflects on the idea of standing up for what one believes in and unifying across differences, even if it means speaking a different language or culture. The chorus of "Ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah, América, Americano" reflects on the idea that in the melting pot of America, love and acceptance will ultimately prevail. The song ends with a defiant call to live one's life on the edge of the law, both showing that even in an unequal society, those in love can push against the boundaries and create a more equitable world.
