Biography

Kurdt Vanderhoof (Aberdeen) is an American singer and guitarist.

His first band was Metal Church, which was named after his apartement in San Francisco (California). Pretty soon he left to his place of birth and renamed the band to Shrapnel. Mike 'Sport' Murphy left the band and was replaced by David Wayne.

In 1983 Shrapnel was changed back into Metal Church. In 1990 Vanderhoof left the band to start a new one named Hall Aflame that only made one album. In 1993 the band was disbanded. After this, he made two more albums under the name Vanderhoof where he displays himself as a real multi-instrumentalist playing the acoustic and electric guitar, bass, mandolin, keyboard (including mellotron) and singer.

In 2005 his name resurfaces in the band Presto Ballet. At the moment Vanderhoof is a member of the reformed band Metal Church.
