That's exactly how I feel about losing this band a decade ago :( Really, I have never heard anything close to Kiuas, and thats since a decade. It's a Metal mix of really almost all Genres you can find out there, even some Black metal Blast beats, Jazz, Folk, ofc Power Metal, a lot of Melodeath and Symphonic, Acoustic, Clean, Screamed. And fucking Mr. Krab on the guitar. But due to the lead singer being a pussy, saying "he is not into Metal anymore, because I don't want to give the world great Music". -_-

I will always remember you as the best and most unique metal band that ever lived. Long live Kiuas! [2]

There are several reason why Ilja is basically guaranteed to be "better" than whatever replacement. For starters, his vocals were "unique". Much like Tarja of Nightwish. It was something different, but still good. A loss of that unique flavor is noticeable, if nothing else, and will draw plenty of ire. Second, Kiuas has been on a very slow decline since their first album. Spirit of Ukko was, amusingly, TOO good. For an initial release, Kiuas will never top it, and as excellent as their following albums are, they're stuck in the shadow of Ukko. This means it's unlikely any future releases will top Ukko as well, which while not necessarily the new singers fault, will be attributed to him fairly frequently. Kiuas isn't dead, but it will benefit everyone if they go into future releases expecting a significant difference in what Kiuas originally delivered.

"I can already say Ilja Jalkanen > Asim Searah" — I guess everyone could say that since the day one of this "new" Kiuas. Sigh. Moreover, Ilja Jalkanen > 98% of good power metal singers. <--THIS

Ilja left? Fuck. Loss of a vocalist or a songwriter are the best ways to ruin a perfectly good band.
