Assuming we're hearing the same version, it must be the aesthetic of the times, right? Everything sounds so weak compared to how things would punch in today. But at that time this kind of music was entirely uncharted territories. It's really hard to listen to Jimi Hendrix and try to realize that what he made and the concept of an electric guitar was quite literally unheard before.

Love the versions of this song on the Islands tour. Crimso were almost a straight-up fusion band at that point. Great sax from Mel Collins.

I just wrote "4:07-4:20 = eargasm", then scrolled down and realized I had already written it two years ago!

originally performed live, often extended to over ten minutes and was called "A Man. A City". An example of such a performance can be found on the live album Epitaph.

J-Irena, that is what makes this song so awesome. King Crimson's experimentalism and jazz influences definitely shows in the latter part of the song :)

to Wiziek: In The Wake of Poseidon album is not shown (which is stupid) because on the last.fm's listing of that album, this song is listed with a longer title as well as some of the other songs.

Goddamn this song kicks ass. When I was first introduced to King Crimson, I always dismissed this album as a formulaic follow-up to In the Court (it is). The older me realizes that this isn't a bad thing by any means.

I don't know how to explain this, but even trough it's a really cool track, it lacks the balls of 21st Century Schizoid Man as its second part
