I love keane, they're my favorite band, but besides the title track, black burning heart, and again & again, this is a complete trainwreck of an album

As somebody looking in from the cold (I don't listen to much 21st century pop and my frames of reference lie elsewhere) this one seems to be the most interesting LP in Keane's discography. The songwriting isn't a safe as the previous two, there's some unusual structures and interesting arrangements (though nothing extraordinary) behind a handful of the songs and the niche production seemed to anticipate the 80s revival trend of the early 2010s. Ironically, the demos sung by the keyboard player shine through more than their finished counterparts - probably because they weren't polished and therefore feel warm and analogue. I particularly enjoyed; Spiralling You Haven't Told Me Anything Perfect Symmetry Black Burning Heart Love Is The End

Yes, it's true that it's different from the other 2 albums, but it stills saves Keane essence.

I STILL feel like the people who reject this album get caught up in the sound. Really listen to the lyrics and you'll realize it's some of the deepest, more mature stuff they've ever written!

Definitely my favorite album. I still love H&F AND UTIS, but this one has a lot of personal significance to me, as it came out during a pretty rough patch in my life...and most certainly helped me get through it
