Kavita Subramaniam née Krishnamurthy, (Hindi:कविता/शराधा कृष्णमूर्ति सुब्रमानीयम, Tamil:கவிதா/ சாரதா கிருஷ்ணமூர்த்தி சுப்ரமணியம்) is an Indian playback singer.

Kavita was born as Sharada Krishnamurthy in Delhi to a Tamil family. She moved to Mumbai to pursue her musical career. Her first Bollywood song was officially credited in 1980 in the film Maang Bharo Sajana. She became famous with the track Hawa Hawai from the 1987 film Mr. India, picturized on Sridevi.

Kavita was the one of the two female soundtrack vocalists for music director Rahul Dev Burman's musical hit 1942: A Love Story along with Lata Mangeshkar. For three consecutive years from 1994 to 1996 and a fourth time in 2003 she won the Filmfare Best Female Playback Award. She was awarded the Padma Shri by the Indian government in 2005. She is married to L. Subramaniam, a famous violinist with whom she occasionally collaborates.
