"I Kissed a Girl" is a two-time VMA's nominated pop song, and the lead single from Katy Perry's debut album One of the Boys written by Katy Perry and Cathy Dennis and produced by Dr. Luke. Perry says it is "about the magical beauty of a woman." On June 26, 2008, the song topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart, becoming the 1000th chart-topper of the Rock Era. Along with the United States, it has also topped the charts in many other countries around the world, including Canada, Sweden, Australia, United Kingdom, New Zealand, Germany and Ireland.
