Much as I like her, I cannot agree. However, I'd agree with this: "she did a wonderful job" ;)

Katie has done a nice job of covering this tune. She sounds like someone who has lost the love of her life and can't quite let go or move on. As sick and destructive as it is to not let go living in a 'secret life', she still sounds precious and innocent. In Cohen's original, he sounds like a stalker, and the tune therefore becomes the stalkers' anthem. As a hopeless romantic, I prefer Katie's cover to Cohen's original.

She really really shouldn't have done this. Really. The only song that I don't like in her songbook. Her the only failure. I mean - I love the original version and I personally think that Leonard Cohen made a perfect song so it's just like no-f**king-one can sing it any better. Greatfully, she didn't perfrom this on a concert. I wouldn't survive it. Maybe she's too young, as some preceder said, but she's definitely destroying this song. No mood, just a sang song. Which is sad as for a great fan of her talent.
