Kate Davis (born Kathryn L. Davis on 4 February 1991 in West Linn, OR) is an American singer, songwriter, and bassist.

Davis has been involved with music from an early age, having picked up the violin when she was only five, which became her musical outlet until a move to the Pacific Northwest exposed her to the jazz scene, after which the upright bass and vocals became her rhythmic and melodic muse.

A vibrant and supportive music community in Portland, Oregon helped Davis throughout her musical career, urging her to perform and improve her talents. During high school, she garnered national recognition, receiving a YoungARTS silver award from NFAA (National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts), received four Downbeat Magazine Student Awards, was twice invited to the Brubeck Summer Jazz Colony, and was a bassist in the Grammy Jazz Ensemble. As well, she was selected as a Presidential Scholar of the Arts, which her saw her visit the White House, and perform at The Kennedy Center. (that performance can be seen here; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JpxI3GMi298)

Davis started composing, writing, and arranging, and began performing her original works, as well as arranging the tracks on her records. An arrange of Rachmaninovs Symphonic Dances got her another from Downbeat Magazine.

Davis was recognized by MTV as one of the "Fifteen Fresh Females to Rule Pop" in 2014.

Her albums include Introducing Kate Davis (2008), A Kate Davis Holiday (2009), Live at Jimmy Mak's (2010), Trophy (2019)
