I can't believe it finally happened. If you went back in time a decade and told me Karl would put out a new solo album, I'd hardly believe you. Karl's solo work is by far some of the most unique folk/ambient music I've ever heard and the world is a better place with more of this music. There's also a great interview that came out today, really insightful stuff on both theory and influences. https://www.guitarworld.com/features/karl-sanders-nile-saurian-apocalpyse

Good 'ol Colonel Karl Sanders! LOL! On a much more serious note, he's a truly a gifted musician.

Users are not tagging similar artists, it's based on their libraries in which case is the reason why many of the bands are more related to Nile than Karl Sanders. I suggest creating a group (if there isn't one already) and then list the connected artists or similar. Alternately you can list the similar artists in a shoutbox message and maybe more users will pick up on it.

I do feel people should stop tagging metal bands as "similar artists". Karl is a metal musician in his main band, true, but his solo stuff isn't metal at all and similar artists should actually be similar to the music of the project, not what other projects the musician may be involved in. People who put Daemonia Nymphe as a similar artist have a much more admirable idea.

Nile is awful but Saurian Meditation is quite cool. [2] He's actually great when he isn't trying too hard to be "brutal." Shame too since Nile has some interesting ideas, but I prefer Kartikeya anyday.

This is much better than I expected. Excellent mix of Egyptian folk and dark ambient.

@durkules: you could try some tracks of Nox Arcana (from Necronomicon) and maybe Phil Thornthon & Hossan Ramzi.
