"Good Morning" is a song by American hip-hop artist Kanye West. It serves as the opener for his third studio album, Graduation. The song was produced by West and layers moody synthesizer lines and boom-bap drums over a chopped vocal sample of "Someone Saved My Life Tonight" as sung by Elton John. It also contains background vocals provided by Connie Mitchell and Tony Williams, concluding with a vocal sample of JAY-Z taken from his own album intro track, "The Ruler's Back".
Lyrically, the album establishes the themes of motivation and inspiration in the face of adversity, mixing classic hip-hop braggodocio with an undercurrent of introspection and self-criticism. "Good Morning" received rave reviews from contemporary music critics, who praised its production as well as West's wordplay.
Though not released as a single, a music video directed by visual artist Takashi Murakami (who also designed the album's artwork) was produced for the track.
