"Philemon Arthur & the Dung" was written by Janove Ottesen, and is the first single from their sixth studio album, Violeta Violeta Volume I. The song was written during a major creative period for Ottesen, and was one of the new songs premiered in early 2010 during the Studio Tour, along with "Femtakt filosofi", and "Sju bøtter tårer er nok, Beatrice".
