“Wings” is the Jonas Brothers' first release in almost a year and a half, following the release of their September 2021 single, “Who’s In Your Head.” The song serves as the lead single from the boys' sixth studio album, The Album. Lyrically, they credit their respective significant others for giving them courage and making their lives better.

On January 27, 2023, the boys sat down for an interview with Variety, in which they talked about their album, and this song was one of the few song titles that they revealed. Two days later, Joe Jonas from the group shared a snippet of the song and revealed that they had received the final mix of the song. After promoting the song a little more, the boys announced the release date of the song and shared its cover art on February 9, 2023.

“Wings” might be the shortest song on the album, but I like it because it feels like a trailer to the rest of the body of work.
