Biography
John Joseph Dolan started playing music at the age of eleven with his first cheap acoustic guitar and the use of a reel to reel tape recorder to capture those early experiments in sound in his home town of Stockport.
It wasn’t until his early twenties, after completing his Graphic Design degree in Leeds, when more serious writing and recording began initially using two cassette decks and overdubbing a variety of instruments including guitars, bass, electric piano and the loan of a Moog synth.
As the 1980’s progressed there was a move to recording with a four track tape system, which was also used to record a number of young local bands.
John continued to enjoy music as a hobby whilst working in education, and recorded and played a considerable amount of music with his friend and talented musician Mal Arnold in Leeds.
Until 2006 they continued to make music and gig with a variety of musicians, the longest lasting being with the Leeds band SpiderFish.
John as a multi instumentalist has continued to record regularly as a solo artist in his home studio.
The first EP was written and recorded during the first twelve months of lockdown during the Covid-19 pandemic 2020-21
