clutnuckle
ah this is it. his greatest track ever if you ask me. it should be impossible how much he puts into this, how these five minutes manage to hold every mood fahey was renowned for being great at creating. but he did it - it's initially playful, like distant memories that strike a happy chord and make you feel all jovial and upbeat, but then it just descends slowly into an incredibly melancholic mood which feels like the hangover of nostalgia - knowing it's all behind you and the people closest to you for tonight are in the cars passing outside your window. he made it pretty apparent with all of his 60s/early 70s albums that he could paint just about any piece of scenery imaginable with his guitar, but on this one he dug into the depths of the soul and painted with what he got - it's a painting of every sentiment that can somehow find its way into your mind on a late night. it's certainly not his only track that does this to some extent, but this one tackles everything at once. best.
