Biography
John Connolly is a Canadian singer, songwriter, musical director and record producer. He has released several of his own works, produced albums for other artists, composed music for film and served as musical director in theatre, radio and tv.
For the past five years, he’s been a member of The Charlottetown Festival Company and for the last two years he’s also served as a member of their Creative Team.
John is the recipient of five PEI Music Awards and two ECMA Nominations.
His latest album, The Wind, was recorded in Nashville with Producer Brian Ahern, who is noted for his classic albums with Emmylou Harris, Roy Orbison and Johnny Cash. It is available on itunes along with his other recordings.
As a singer/songwriter, John has toured from coast to coast and shared the stage with likes of Joel Plaskett, Cuff The Duke and Gordie Sampson and Jimmy Rankin. He was honoured to perform at the 2010 Olympics.
Currently, he’s developing a folk musical based on the life of Terry Fox.
