This album was recorded live July 18, 1985 at the Montreux Festival. Released in 1987 on Elektra/Asylum/Nonsuch Records. No other musicians perform with Joao…just him and his acoustic guitar. The work is simply scintillating and pure. Texts and translations are enclosed. The pearl features songs written by Brasilian composers such as Caetano Veloso, Vinicius de Moraes, Ary Barroso, Marino Pinto, Bruno Brighetti, Chico Buarque, Geraldo Jacques, Nelson Trigueira. If you are a fan of this man, you must have this album.
