I've always really liked this one. It's not nearly the minefield many "famous band's guitarist's side project" albums are because Cantrell was always the primary songwriter for AIC and did his share of singing as well, so you're in good hands here. The sound of the record isn't totally different from AIC and in fact a few of these songs would've made great additions to an Alice in Chains follow-up to their self-titled album, but for the most part it's a little "brighter" with fewer songs dealing with the underbelly of life and dark side of addiction and so forth, and there's also a bit more of a... I hesitate to say "Southern Rock" because that can be such a pejorative term sometimes; maybe just "Classic Rock" or "Roots Rock" would be a better way to describe the element I'm trying to put my finger on. Anyway, it's not wall to wall "RAWK" and it certainly isn't any kind of Metal, but it's very well produced, the band is great, Cantrell is in fine form and voice... a very good LP.

@Reflechissant, FUCK OFF, Cantrell is a great artist, spends his time making music instead of writing annoying shouts...

Absolutely agree. I love Degradation Trip too. Both should be on last.fm radio.
