Biography

Jen Buxton (born February 17, 1989) is an Australian folk-punk singer-songwriter, based out of Newcastle, New South Wales. Buxton began her musical career as one of the three guitarists, songwriters and vocalists of Like... Alaska, with whom an album and several EPs were released. Jen began playing solo sets as early as 2006; however, it would take until 2011 for an album to surface. Jen's debut solo LP was entitled "Don't Change Your Plans," and was released on Australia's Poison City Records on April 8, 2011. Since its release, Buxton has toured and performed with the likes of Frank Turner, Jim Ward, Jamie Hay, The Smith Street Band and Restorations.

A collection of four new songs, as well as a Fences cover, were recorded and released under the title "Desperation Demos" in April 2013. After the run of CD-Rs sold out, the songs were put on Bandcamp and immediately sent Buxton to the top of Bandcamp's acoustic charts. The songs were then picked up to be released on a seven-inch in September 2013. A split EP and seven-inch with Lincoln Le Fevre was also released this month, featuring two new original songs: "Einmal Ist Keinmal" and "It Says 'No Homers,' We're Allowed to Have One."
