i have nothing but huge respect for mills for having such a legacy on techno music and creating the UR collective, however his tracks can get stale very quickly because he's stayed on his comfort zone for too long. it's reached a point where you can't tell his tracks apart and any new release is not very exciting because you know it's just more of the same. I still would not hesitate in recommending his work to anyone, his 90s work is still first grade, thanks for everything mr. mills

This is not a comfort zone. This is Minimal (detroit techno) - I'm just kidding, I'm not an asshole:D In addition, not every artist is constantly evolving at every stage of his work. He did a lot for music, at the moment he focused rather on something like a musical film narrative, and at the same time he had something in the style of musical meditation. Maybe you have too high expectations:D

I still partially stand by what I said but I must say he's shining again with last year's "Moon (The Area of Influence)" and the recent Millsart comeback, fresher than the same tedious bleep techno 12"s for the past 20 years and overall incredible! also, his releases since early 2000s have grown on me a little, but it's hard to endure it for too long

personally my favorite releases are Waveform Transmission Vol. 1 and From The 21st. I've still got a long way to go but these two kept me hooked for too long

легенда, угу. еще и редкий случай в истории электронной музыки, когда исторические заслуги и качество музыки впечатляют одинаково.

Damn i love the new sci-fi Jeff Mills material; Connectionspecial, Fantastic Voyage, The Power, The Messenger, One Man Spaceship, The Sleeper Wakes etc. Amazing. I've digged his work since mid-90s with UR and Axis, I didn't quite get the hang of the Purpose Maker stuff, but this stuff is just amazing.
