This album is my favorite project of hers. It’s so well done and FULL. Like, it’s a dish all in itself. You need no desert or appetizer. It’s just so satiating. It all just melds so well. And the transitions are soooo good 🧎🏾♂️.

Still an iconic concept album and album period. What a trip she takes you on with this one.

idk, over the years a lot of the tracks off mbdtf have fallen out of favor for me while I can only say archandroid has gotten better with every listen

MBDTF is one of my favorite albums ever, so I doubt I'll like this more than it, but this is still an amazing album

I don’t know why I slept on her this long; people recommended this to me shortly after it came out, and I had an immediate hunch that I’d love it (it’s part of a complex, seven-part concept suite; how could I not?), but I idiotically prioritised so many other releases on the long list of music I wanted to hear that I only got around to this last year. It’s got to have supplanted whatever was my AOTY for 2010 (I can’t even remember now), and it’s one of the few albums for which I’ve never heard any clear musical predecessors (only peak Shiina Ringo even comes close). To be clear, she’s thrown together a patchwork of classical, jazz, pop, film soundtracks, R&B, funk, soul, gospel, folk, hip-hop, progressive rock, electronica, and several other genres, but I’ve never heard anyone else combine them this way. Her other releases are amazing, too, but I don’t ever expect to hear another album like this one. And it’s comforting me during a trying time of my life. That’s just the icing.

Masterpiece. [28] This album is truly a timeless classic. Sounds as good now as it did in 2010. Janelle is truly one of a kind.

I love the gapless element of this album. Like how every song seamlessly transitions to the other is just to die for

the fact that this album lose the grammy for best contemporary r&b album to usher still upsets me
