With a strained, emotional vocal track filled with grooving and soothing guitar solos, this first track on Jack Stauber’s 2017 album Pop Food kicks things off with an engaging combination of synths and a kicking bass.
While some of it may seem to be complete nonsense, with lines such as “electrify my golden tooth,” it isn’t. When asked in a New Retro interview how he writes his lyrics, Jack Stauber replied:
I get playful with the words but they’re always chosen very carefully. They all make perfect sense. I wouldn’t sing something if it didn’t.
The song could possibly be about someone who is in love with someone who doesn’t feel the same. He wants a “spark” of love between them to “electrify his heart.”
