“Blame On Me“ discusses the different views of an upbringing, probably Jack’s upbringing. The song is sung as a sort of 3-way conversation between the younger brother, the older brother and their father. The first verse is from the viewpoint of his younger brother. It is sung from how his younger brother perceived them growing up and that he felt abandoned. The second verse is a reaction to the first verse by the older brother, probably Jack. He explains why he did what he did, and what the effects were of what their father did to him. Lastly, the third verse is the father replying on why he is the person that he is.
This gives an interesting view that even though we try to be better parents than our parents we still make mistakes in different ways which then effects other people in ways we didn’t expect. We all just do our best.
