North Carolina rapper J. Cole's debut album, "Cole World: The Sideline Story", was released on September 27, 2011 by Roc Nation. According to the Sideline Story Songfacts, Cole added the subtitle, "The Sideline Story," to the title as after being signed to Jay-Z's label and waited for his debut release to be dropped, he felt like someone being on the sidelines for their favorite basketball team.
