Peak 80s metal - or simply peak metal, fuck it. The fact that Bruce is pulling Caught Somewhere in Time off live in this Future Past tour better than he did in 1986/1987 (at least the recorded Youtube footage) is mindboggling. Eternal hails.

Their best album IMO, Maiden + synth is just the best. The only skip to me is long-distance runner, otherwise, a front to back classic.

Can we agree on the top 5 albums Somewhere, Seventh son, Piece of mind, Powerslave and Killers?

Deja Vu fot the nes. Deja Vu is like Detective Conan. I prefer Ran Mouri to Conan. Ran Mouri is the Captain of the female Karate Team in Tokyo University.

My favorite Maiden album for one simple reason - it sounds like USPM, which is one of my favorite subgenres in metal music. I've grown apart from Maiden a lot over the years but I never grow tired of this album.

Not a single bad song on this album. And the cover illustration is just brilliant, I spent hours in my childhood examining it, decyphering all the hidden ideas (pre-internet).

Somehow overlooked in the Maiden discography...maybe because it lacksa single 'crowd pleaser', but overall is a fucking monolithic piece of work! plus the 2015 Remaster is pure eargasm worth any rebuy.

btw, as I remember, with Turbo it used to be one general idea, something that I never had understand. In fact Turbo and Somewhere in Time are amazing. JP Live was the proof that so many people was wrong! ^^ Cheers!

I rank Somewhere in Time and Powerslave as my top 2 Maiden records also. Personally I tend to put Powerslave as #1 much of the time, but sometimes I give the edge to Somewhere in Time. Either way this one is the perfect mix of technicality/progressive elements/ambition with Heavy Metal, and they never again approached it in the more than 30 years since.

so painfully overrated... the mix is a complete shit and most songs sound the same...

No way, man. This is one of their absolute best, and I don't agree the songs sound the same at all -- I hear a perfect balance of cohesion and diversity.
