Indoor Voices is the result of a collection of songs written by Jonathan Relph, the earliest dating back to early 2009. Through his efforts, and with help from his many talented friends, Indoor Voices took shape, resulting in the 2011 release of the album “Nevers.”
Nevers is rooted in deep personal reflection, nostalgia and is ultimately about gaining perspective over time, and the undressing of the unknown that exists in our youth. It covers themes of personal agency (Nevers (Loud) “We were never told the role”), guilt (Like Your Own “Everything I think about is wrong”), acquiring skeletons for your closet (Always “I don’t say all the worst things I’m about”) and the importance of meaningful relationships which resonate once we’re gone (They Said “And no one was talking of old”).
The record was mixed by Chris Stringer, whose portfolio includes Timber Timbre, the D’Urbervilles and Ohbijou; and mastered by Jeff “Fedge” Elliott, whose client list, aside from the above, includes Royal City, Gentlemen Reg and Picastro among others.
