This and Lunar Strain are far and away the band's best. And that's because Anders isn't on vocals. Even though I enjoy everything from The Jester Race through to Colony, Anders was only ever an "acceptable"/medicore growler even at his peak. His vocals were awful on Skydancer, too.

"[tag]middle school romantic death metal[/tag]" That's a great tag to describe it.

2feelek, haha, you are so right on.. The lyrics on this album are very out there. Not even symbolic, just straight on.. that poem about love was like reading some middleschooler's inspiration after reading a few poems by Keats... Still an amazing little EP. Fucking beats the recent nu metal bullshit in my opinion. Oh well, haters will hate, as usually.

Metality
Musically one of their very best releases, but as for the vocals... nyeah. Do not like Henke's screams much. Reminds me way too much of some old-school black metal bands. I guess it's this seemingly present "don't give a shit how it sounds"-attitude; really sounds like he's just screaming in my ears. That is, not using any sort of technique but basically just letting it out. Too raw for my tastes, which is a shame. This would be so close to perfection if it had a better vocalist...

Terrific vocal performance! The tortured screams definitely fit into the sound which the band was adopting at that point.

Classic EP with standout songs like the title-track and Biosphere. Ever Dying acoustic outro solo is also a gem

I'd also like to note I hate last.fm's shoutbox format, it makes trying to quote things terrible.

Urgh.... sorry about the last shout, the formatting seems to have kind of killed it for me, it's hard to read._ \ theblackwaltz wrote: No Anders = win. Sad the way this band went. \ Come now, Anders was a good vocalist til he changed his vocal style on Clayman, and even then it wasn't bad. It wasn't really til -after- Clayman that it started turning meh. It is a great EP, of course. And of course Come Clarity has more listeners, it's more accessible to the more mainstream listeners. It's not that bad an album, but it's definitely more metalcore then melodeath. Personally, I'd have liked Stanne to do vocals on this EP as well, but the vocalist here's rather good in his own rights.
