“Enemy” is the lead single and fifth track for League of Legends‘ inaugural animated series, Arcane. The track features vocals from Imagine Dragons and JID, the former of which previously collaborated with Riot Games Music Team on “Warriors,” a song written and recorded as the anthem for the 2014 League of Legends World Championships.
As a primary artist, “Enemy” marks the band’s third collaboration with a rapper throughout their entire history, with JID joining the likes of Kendrick Lamar and Lil Wayne.
Imagine Dragons also released a solo version of the song, which features a bridge performed by lead singer Dan Reynolds in replacement of JID’s verse.
"I wrote this verse a couple years ago but initially the opening lines were from a song I started with Mac , he tol me it would fit better on this song and I’m glad he did.."
– JID via Instagram, 10/28/2021.
" is about reconciling internal conflict in a world where sometimes it feels impossible to trust even yourself"

On October 12, 2022, “Enemy” was certified 2x multi-platinum by the RIAA.
