Never been fond on the Bowie version, Like this one though, sounds manic in a good way.

The piano on this is so infectious. It's vaguely like "Can't Take My Eyes off You". Adds this romantic yet nocturnal flair.

The riff starting at 01:32 is killing me, recording's a little rough but it's still just as good as Bowie's.

Holy fuck, Iggy's version is so fucking RAWW, I fucking love that. Loving both Iggy's and Bowie's versions equally, they're just both their own style.

Both versions are absolutely gorgeous, but the instrumental section after the final verse on Iggy's is simply amazing. So haunting. Love the "galloping" bass towards the end too, I'm a big Iron Maiden fan, so it's a treat to hear that on a pre-Maiden song.

"Iggy's original is much better" - I get what you're trying to say, but Bowie contributed signficantly to this version, too.

I think it actually adds to the charm of that song. It would not sound half as good if it was all clean and pristine.

I agree with everyone here, Iggy's version is much better than Bowie's one. But to be fair, David's one was a great way to introduce everyone to this forgotten masterpiece. And it was pretty good, as well.

The Iggy version on 'The Idiot' is so superior to Bowie's pondweed attempt it's almost unbelievable; Still, at least Bowie's version gave Iggy the recognition he deserved, having missed out on SO much...especially when Bowie and his ego-ego hid (Iggy and) The Stooges away whilst he unleashed "his" creation, Z-Iggy Stardust on an unaware of the TRUTH world...1972's 'Raw Power' not being released until 1973 when folk thought Iggy was copying Bowie. "And when I get excited, my little China girl says "oh, Jimmy, just you shut your mouth...She says'Ssshhhh....' ".

I love how he sings, he's so raw and real, really with a "I don't give a f.." attitude. Much better than Bowie's version.
