Biography
Singer and multi-instrumentalist Ian Dorsch has been learning his way around the recording studio since age 14. At age 16 his electronic music compositions earned him the title of “young Jan Hammer” from Electronic Dreams magazine, and by the time Ian began to attend music school at Western Washington University, he had a thorough background writing and arranging in a wide variety of pop and rock styles. Ian’s formal training is in classical voice and choral conducting, and he has extensive experience writing for and conducting professional vocal and instrumental ensembles of various sizes. He also regularly performs and records with his rock band, and his experience as a leader in both the classical community and the rock scene has earned him connections with some of the best players in the Pacific Northwest. Ian’s experience in the studio and in the concert hall puts him in a unique position: He is a highly creative musician who is equally at home composing, arranging, performing and conducting music in a wide variety of styles, and, using a combination of synthesized sounds and live players, achieve results that rival the best in any genre.
