"Celebrity" is IU's pre-release comeback single first announced in January 11, 2021. It is a cheerful and energetic pop song which will be part of her new studio album in almost four years. IU's comeback single was released on January 27, 2021 at 18:00 KST (UTC+9) in major online streaming platforms in Korea and worldwide.
"Celebrity" was written by IU based on the experienced of a close friend who was scrutinised for being different. She wrote the things she want to tell her friend and it became a complete song. The queen of pop also wrote the lyrics for everyone who feels odd that they too are a Celebrity.

Aside from achieving Top 4 in the LastFM Global Top Tracks Chart two hours after release, the "Celebrity" music video in YouTube has already reached 2,829,136 views by 23:24 KST.
It was also the fastest song to enter the MelOn 24Hits Top 10, making it to rank 1 in only two hours.
By 21:00 KST, "Celebrity" broke the record for the fastest song to achieve a real-time all-kill since MelOn and FLO changed their algorithms.
The pre-release single hit the Top 2 rank in MelOn All Time unique listeners in the first hour of release, garnering 156,720 unique listeners. Top 1 was IU's "Eight (f. SUGA)" which garnered 199,327 unique listeners.
