Hey, this is probably some useful info for everyone complaining about the loud mastering. Long story short: The illegal downloads (or atleast some of them) you find on the internet are waaay more clipped/wrecked than the actually cd version is. People spreading music on the internet often have no idea what the fuck they are doing. So these versions are basicly like the cd version but boosted BY THREE FUCKING DB! This is a comparison between both: http://imgur.com/g6NNg8w I don't know exactly what sources/mediums are affected. I can only speak for 2 or 3 illegal downloads (I didnt feel like trying more) and my cd version. The better sounding version is still pretty fucked up but not that obviously clipping all the time. btw: abducted >>>>>>>>>>>>> virus XD

Hey guys, use mp3gain if needed, the album started at over 100 db and I reduce all my music to 94 db, it helps a little with the production/loudness. It is the shame that has to be done, but there are workarounds.

Gah! The production! Too loud! It always catches me off guard when I listen to something before this.

@Metality - what I am talking about is greater "perceived loudness" due to compression. When something is overly compressed like this album, or say, Metallica's Death Magnetic, there are to few dynamics for your ears to fully appreciate everything that is going on... it's like a relentless assault of sound that gives me a headache after not too long.... and no I am not talking about the STYLE of music, hell I can take a lot more intense stuff than this.

What a terribly uneven album. You have 4 great songs in "Fearless", "Let The Knife Do The Talking", "A Thousand Lies" and "Living To Die" mixed with 4 awful songs in "Scrutinized", "Craving For Another Killing", "Blooddrenched" and "Incised Before I've Ceased", while both "Warpath" and "Compulsive Psychosis" are listenable. Bad Peter!

Awesome album, but holy batfuck this is the loudest fucking album I have ever heard. It actually hurts listening to this on headphones. In desperate need of a remastering, those arguing in favour of the mastering - you need to get your ears checked pronto!

As far as production goes I like this album a lot, the guitar tone is something else, actually one of my favourites. As for the loudness, I could care less, this isn't really the kind of music that needs all the dynamics. Smash it with a brickwall limiter for all I care.

This is a pretty awesome album, obviously. The only thing I don't like is the production; it's way too goddamned loud, there are no dynamics all. As an experiment, I tried using an equaliser to turn up the volume even more, and I couldn't. It's almost as loud as Death Magnetic.

I think that's the one big thing AToED was missing. Riffs. Still a decent album, but I prefer Virus. Gnarlier guitarwork, :)

Does anyone know who to contact to get a fixed copy of this album? Mine is one of the ones with scratchy annoying sounds from tracks 6-11.

Production doesn't bother me that much. In fact, I love it, adds a lot to the atmosphere. Also my favorite Hypocrisy album. \m/
