Little Shop of Horrors is a horror rock comedy musical. The story follows an ordinary florist who is unsatisfied with his life. However, one day he comes across a mysterious plant, that talks and feeds on blood and flesh. The musical is set in Skid Row, Los Angeles in the 1960s. Howard Ashman (b. May 3, 1950, Baltimore, Maryland – d. March 14, 1991), born Howard Elliott Ashman, was an American playwright and movie music lyricist. He collaborated with Alan Menken on several films, notably animated features for Disney, Ashman writing the lyrics and Menken composing the scores.
