Back as a teen I couldn't bear to listen to Hot Chip but as you grow up, so do your principles as well as the grasp on reality itself. Hot Chip's lyrics hold deep messages which uncover life's deepest flaws. Listen to Chip and stay Hot.

"remember when we both first heard the wall of sound?" Yeah, and it sucked. Stop this loudness bullshit already. It's ruining your music.''---- i think you've confused 'wall of sound' with 'brickwalling,' friend. there's a difference- especially nowadays. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wall_of_Sound and then there's http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loudness_war

Releasing two versions would be admitting they've been making music sound artificially horrible for 20 years though. And LPs are nicer anyway! Why wouldn't you want them? This way you get the better sound AND the better packaging. Pearls before swine etc.

Everyone does it because music actually sounds better when brickwalled for 95% of listeners -- people who use crappy iPod earbuds and listen to music on public transportation or in the gym. It sucks, but it's understandable. I just wish it was commonplace for labels to release two versions so I wouldn't have to get LPs.
